Now we're cooking. May saw a couple of upsets, but most of what we learned came from the closeness of games that went the right way.

GUILDFORD, UK--The Windy City rollers took to the track for their third sanctioned game of 2013, with London seeing their first sanctioned action since their dominance of Track Queens: Battle Royale at the end of 2012.

Last Weekend After a few hectic weekends of WFTDA action, the last weekend in March provided some respite. Montreal’s visit to--and near upset of--Windy City was the weekend’s biggest bout, but it looks unlikely to have a major impact on the rankings.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- In what amounted to a preseason game for Windy City (#6 DNN), the Chicago team kicked off their year with an unsanctioned battle against regional rivals Naptown (#14 DNN) on the road in the Indiana Pacers' Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

ATLANTA, GA -- When the Windy City Rollers and the Denver Roller Dolls last met, it was a last-jam thriller, with the Mile High Club escaping Chicago with a nine-point win in their final game before playoff season began. This bout was penalty heavy for both teams but didn't have any of those fireworks or late-game drama; Denver took the lead in the very first jam, and never relinquished it.

LINCOLN, NE -- The Women’s Flat Track Derby Association tonight conducted a random draw to determine the bracket for November’s Championship Tournament. Each region’s #1 seed receives a first round bye; the #3 seed from each region will face a #2 from another region and the victor of that match-up proceeds to face a #1 from a third.
