BALTIMORE, MD - Having defeated Carolina in a miraculous last-minute flurry earlier in the day, fifth-seeded Montreal took on a well-rested eighth-seeded Dutchland, who had controversially chosen to forfeit their bout against top seed Gotham a day earlier after winning their initial bout against 9 seed Maine.

BALTIMORE, MD -- In a rematch of a narrow, last-jam victory for Carolina in the consolation rounds of the 2010 Easterns, Carolina and Montreal played another nailbiter that came down to the final seconds. This time, though, it was Montreal getting out barely on top, 175-166.

The fifth WFTDA regional playoffs kick off this weekend in Baltimore, MD as the Charm City Roller Girls and DC Rollergirls co-host this year's Eastern Region competition, dubbed "Nightmare on 95." Games begin at 10am Eastern on Friday, September 16 and conclude with Sunday's championship bout at 5pm Eastern.

HOUSTON, TX -- Houston Roller Derby’s HaRD Knocks Hosted Montreal’s New Skids on the Block in a nail biter on Saturday. Every jam was packed with heavy defense and determined offense in what was a very evenly matched bout, but in the end Montreal pulled it out in a 126-121 final.

LONDON, UK -- After having an unexpectedly tough time with Steel City on Saturday, #9 Charm City easily won their Sunday back to back games against #22 London and #14 Montreal. Montreal delivered their usual gutsy performance, but a short roster became a serious liability in the final 15 minutes and they went down to their second-largest loss ever, 207-85.

LONDON, UK -- Steel City probably came into this bout looking for a little redemption after playing a very strong 50 minutes against Charm City and completely falling apart on penalty accumulation in the final 10, but the end of the first half of their bout against Montreal was eerily reminiscent of the end of the second half against Charm City.
