BROOMFIELD, CO -- Minnesota blasted out to a surprising big early lead over Texas in the first quarterfinal game of the 2011 WFTDA Championships tournament, but the resilient Texas crew battled back to claim a 141-108 win in the end. Minnesota was particularly bedeviled by penalties for the last two-thirds of the game, ending up with 44 minutes spent in the box against 38 for Texas.

BROOMFIELD, CO -- The North Central region's second seed Minnesota kicked off the 2011 WFTDA Championships tournament with a thrilling win over the third seed from the East, Charm City. The teams had last met in the previous year's Championships, where Charm dominated 249-118. This time, though, was much different.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - In their second straight meeting for the WFTDA North Central Region playoff title, the top seed once again took home the top prize while maintaining their lifetime undefeated streak against region foes.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- Monumental Mayhem’s third bout of Day Two featured the second-seeded Detroit taking on the team that eliminated them at last year’s North Central Region Playoffs - third-seeded Minnesota.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- Monumental Mayhem’s third bout of Day One featured third-seeded Minnesota against sixth-seeded Madison. Madison had finished top-three in their region in both 2009 and 2010, but Minnesota sent notice to the rest of the North Central Region that they were worthy of being sent to back to Championships with a 218-81 win over Madison.

The fourth and final WFTDA regional playoff tournament of 2011 begins on Friday in Indianapolis, IN, as the Naptown Roller Girls host the North Central's edition of the weekend, Monumental Mayhem. Games begin at 9am Eastern on Friday, October 7th and conclude on Sunday with the championship at 6:20pm Eastern.

MILWAUKEE, WI -- The Brewhaha’s most touted bout between North Central regional one and two ranked Windy City Rollers (unofficially #8 in the nation via DNN) and Minnesota Rollergirls (#16 DNN) certainly lived up to the billing – for the first half. An intense, fast-paced first ended deadlocked at 74. The second half was another story.

PAUL, MN -- The Tucson Saddletramps gave an early scare to the MNRG All-Stars by capturing the first two jams, but Minnesota soon powered through to put up a commanding sixty-point lead by halftime. Led by a consistent blocking staff and three standout jammers, the MNRG won by over a hundred points without the benefit of a single power jam, ending with a final score of 161-52.
