VILLA PARK, IL -- In the banked-track Kitten Traxx Chicago Invitational third-place bout between Windy City and Gotham, Windy City stayed within shouting distance of Gotham for the first three quarters, but ran out of gas - and players - in the final quarter.

BROOMFIELD, CO -- East Region queens Gotham became the WFTDA queens for the second time by defeating Oly in the final bout of the 2011 WFTDA Championships, 140-97. The win capped Gotham's second undefeated season and ended Oly's season one game short of a perfect run.

BROOMFIELD, CO -- Texas hung with Gotham for the first 40 minutes of their semifinal game, but the heavily favored New Yorkers took over for good in the homestretch. Gotham advanced to the WFTDA championship bout for the first time since winning the Hydra in 2008, solidly defeating Texas 195-113.

BROOMFIELD, CO - Yesterday's victory over Nashville sent the Rocky Mountain Rollergirls 5280 Fight Club into a tough quarterfinal match against tournament-favorite Gotham Girls All-Stars, who have been acclimating themselves to the elevation for a week in Colorado Springs.

BALTIMORE, MD -- For the fifth year in a row, Gotham and Philly met in the WFTDA East Region playoff tournament, and for the third year in a row, the clash came in the championship match.

BALTIMORE, MD - Having already earned their best standing at Eastern Regionals, 4 seed Steel City drew the unenviable position of taking on tournament top seed Gotham. Gotham came in to skate their first official bout of the tournament, having won their scheduled first bout against Dutchland via forfeit.

The fifth WFTDA regional playoffs kick off this weekend in Baltimore, MD as the Charm City Roller Girls and DC Rollergirls co-host this year's Eastern Region competition, dubbed "Nightmare on 95." Games begin at 10am Eastern on Friday, September 16 and conclude with Sunday's championship bout at 5pm Eastern.
