PORTLAND, OR -- Much like Denver's Friday-night loss to Rat City, their 5th place game with Bay Area was characterized by a raft of jammer penalties on both teams. This time, however, Denver was able to hang on for a very hard-fought and narrow 171-152 victory, managing to get a modicum of revenge for their 2010 elimination from Westerns at the hands of Bay Area.

PORTLAND, OR -- The story of Saturday's consolation rounds were essentially the story of 3W Denver and 5W Bay Area crushing seeds 7 through 10. In the first three games of the day involving Bay Area or Denver, the high seed won by an average score of 305-47. 7W Sacred City managed to do a little bit better than that, but they still went down by a massive score of 220-59.

PORTLAND, OR -- In a back and forth game that was almost completely decided by an enormous pileup of untimely jammer penalties on both teams, 6W Rat City delivered the first and only upset of Friday's opening action with a 139-128 win over 3W Denver. The win eliminated Denver from contention in the Championships tournament they'll hold in early November.

The second straight week of the WFTDA regional playoffs begin on Friday in Portland, OR; Rose City hosts the Bridgetown Brawl. Games begin at 10:30am Pacific on Friday, September 23rd and conclude on Sunday with the championship at 5:30pm Pacific.

LAS VEGAS, NV -- In a rematch of one of 2010's most memorable games, #4 Denver managed to hold off a stiff challenge from #6 Bay Area to win the marquee bout of Rollercon 2011, 133-104, paced by a stellar 105-point performance for ace jammer Heather Juska.

AUSTIN, TX -- With about 15 minutes left to play, it looked like #4 Denver was well on their way to a triple-digit rout of #11 Texas, but a fierce 52-0 run by Texas -- punctuated by a huge 27-0 jam to Olivia Shootin' John -- made the visiting Denver team have to scramble to earn a 135-117 victory on Saturday night in Austin.
