BALTIMORE, MD -- In the 9th place game of the East Region Playoffs, both 7 seed Carolina and 9 seed Maine ended up placing lower in the final standings than their seeding. Maine was within 28 points with just over 10 minutes to go, but Carolina slammed the door with two big jams to Holly Wanna Crackya that gave them a hefty 69-point win at 241-172.

BALTIMORE, MD -- In a rematch of a narrow, last-jam victory for Carolina in the consolation rounds of the 2010 Easterns, Carolina and Montreal played another nailbiter that came down to the final seconds. This time, though, it was Montreal getting out barely on top, 175-166.

The fifth WFTDA regional playoffs kick off this weekend in Baltimore, MD as the Charm City Roller Girls and DC Rollergirls co-host this year's Eastern Region competition, dubbed "Nightmare on 95." Games begin at 10am Eastern on Friday, September 16 and conclude with Sunday's championship bout at 5pm Eastern.
