Brewcity Bruisers

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- Milwaukee’s Brewcity Bruisers kept their seventh seed in the North Central playoffs with a decisive win against fifth seed Cincinnati.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- Monumental Mayhem’s fifth bout of Day Two followed the upset trend as eighth-seeded Arch Rival was able to defeat the fifth-seeded Cincinnati by a score of 137 – 98. Cincinnati had handily defeated bottom seed Ohio earlier in the day but they faced a tough test in the well-rested Arch Rival team, who had two bouts themselves on Day One. 

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- The Chicago Outfit outlasted the Brewcity Bruisers to claim their second win in a day over a Wisconsin team. As in the win against Madison on Saturday morning, the Outfit’s physicality and pack control deciding the game. The Outfit’s win gives them a big boost in the North Central rankings, moving them up from ninth seed to no worse than sixth place in the tournament.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - After being upset by a 7 seed in the opening round of last year’s WFTDA North Central region playoffs, second-seeded Detroit wanted to show the other teams competing at this year's playoffs that they were not about to have a repeat performance in 2011. It was mission accomplished for Detroit, as they utilized a second-half scoring explosion to top 7NC Brewcity 174-59.

The fourth and final WFTDA regional playoff tournament of 2011 begins on Friday in Indianapolis, IN, as the Naptown Roller Girls host the North Central's edition of the weekend, Monumental Mayhem. Games begin at 9am Eastern on Friday, October 7th and conclude on Sunday with the championship at 6:20pm Eastern.

MILWAUKEE, WI -- In their three previous sanctioned meetings, Madison’s Dairyland Dolls have dominated in-state rivals Brewcity, winning each time by over 100 points. Still, it had been 20 months since they last met at Brawl of America. With new faces on both benches, history would be no guide to their face-off in the Brewhaha’s final bout.
