For more background on the methodology and reasoning behind our Power Rankings, please see this month's intro article and the original DNN Power Rankings FAQ.

DNN WFTDA W/L Next Notes
1 Gotham

1 E 2012 0-0
2011 14-0
4/21 vs Long Island Gotham hasn't officially announced their first flat-track bout of 2012, but they'll be the prohibitive favorite no matter who it is, as both of their toughest competitors from 2011 have lost key personnel. Wild Cherri and Kandy Kakes are gone from GGRD's 2012 roster, but the addition of Claire D. Way (ex-Boston) and Mick Swagger (ex-Rose City) will go a long way towards helping Gotham plug those holes.
2 Oly

1 W 2012 1-0
2011 14-1
6/3 vs Tampa Oly opened their season with a 103-point win over Jet City; while it's hard to draw too many conclusions from the relative size of blowouts, it's notable that they defeated a stronger Jet City team by considerably more last year. With a potentially very fluid roster and a relatively light regional schedule, Oly may remain a question mark fairly deep into the season.
2 W 2012 0-0
2011 9-3
4/13 @ Rage City No action or movement yet -- they'll get their first games in next weekend at the Dust Devil tournament.
4 Texas

1 SC 2012 3-0
2011 14-9
5/12 @ Houston No action or movement for Texas; they remain quiet until May.
2 SC 2012 1-0
2011 12-4
4/6 @ No Coast No action or movement this year, but Kansas City kicks things off this weekend with games against No Coast and Montreal.
6 Rose City

3 W 2012 0-0
2011 9-6
4/14 vs Windy City No action or movement this year. A new-look Rose City takes on #10 Windy City at home on April 14, which should shed a bit more light on the new makeup of the team.
7 Rat City

4 W 2012 0-0
2011 11-9
6/9 @ Terminal City No action or movement this year; Rat City's first officially announced bout so far isn't until late June against Bay Area.
8 Denver

5 W 2012 0-0
2011 13-3
4/21 vs Bay Area No action or movement this year, but they get into the swing of things with what promises to be a corker against major regional rival Bay Area on April 21.
9 Bay Area

6 W 2012 0-0
2011 14-5
4/21 @ Denver No action or movement yet this year, but get a chance for revenge against Denver this month; Denver narrowly defeated them in the fifth-place game of last year's Western Regionals.
10 Windy City

1 NC 2012 1-0
2011 16-3
4/14 @ Rose City Windy City had a big statement win to open their season when they rolled over #14 Naptown on the last day of the first quarter. They'll try to keep momentum going against a top-three West team when they face Rose City on the road on April 14.
11 Philly

2 E 2012 0-0
2011 12-9
5/5 @ Montreal No action or movement in 2012; they'll remain quiet till May.
12 Minnesota

2 NC 2012 3-0
2011 11-4
5/5 @ Naptown Landed convincing if slightly-smaller-than-expected margins of victory on both Montreal and Brewcity in March and hold steady at #12.
13 Charm City

3 E 2012 1-0
2011 9-8
4/6 @ Orange County Brutalized Queen City by a final of 440-62 in a closed March match. Their match against #24 Chicago Outfit this month will be played without a number of longtime veterans and should be a good illustration of the newer talent from Baltimore.
14 Naptown

3 NC 2012 2-1
2011 14-4
4/7 vs Steel City March was an up and down month for the Indianapolis crew as they smashed Dutchland by 208 but then got blown out by Windy City on the following weekend. Naptown gets a chance to finish the three-weekend series strong with a home game against #16 Steel City on Saturday.
15 Detroit

4 NC 2012 0-0
2011 8-13
7/21 @ Steel City No action or movement in 2012 and no opponents officially announced, though they'll be playing at the Midwest BrewHaha in early June.
16 Steel City

4 E 2012 1-0
2011 11-7
4/7 @ Naptown Had very little trouble in a season-opening 295-107 beatdown of Bleeding Heartland; their Saturday match with #14 Naptown looks to be a tougher challenge.
17 London

5 E 2012 0-0
2011 4-6
7/14 @ Bear City Once again, the pesky Atlantic Ocean has kept the Brits from testing their mettle against stateside WFTDA teams for quite a while. They remain quiet in interleague play until May.
18 Montreal

6 E 2012 3-1
2011 17-7
4/6 @ Omaha The Skids have had tough injury luck this year, with mainstay Georgia W. Tush still recovering from a late-2011 broken collarbone and triple-threat Smack Daddy recently suffering a broken leg. They stay stable at #18 after a 136-95 loss to #12 Minnesota.
19 Nashville

3 SC 2012 1-0
2011 7-6
4/22 @ Tampa Nashville's 30 point win over unranked Atlanta would seem solid enough, if not for the fact that Nashville annihilated them by 175 the last time they matched up. With no other data for Nashville, though, they hold steady for the moment before facing Tampa Bay later this month.
20 Boston

7 E 2012 0-1
2011 7-10
4/28 vs Naptown No action or movement for Boston in March.
21 Brewcity

7 NC 2012 0-1
2011 6-9
4/28 @ Bleeding Heartland Brewcity edges up two slots, partially on a decent showing against #12 Minnesota and partially on March slides from the closely matched Chicago Outfit and Arch Rival.
22 Houston

5 SC 2012 4-0
2011 14-9
4/20 @ Madison The reacquisition of respected veteran Death By Chocolate (who took 2010 and 2011 off from Houston) appears to have helped reignite Houston, who had some scattered impressive results in 2011 with near-wins against Boston and Montreal. This year they're 4-0 and romped over Tampa by 119 at the Clover Cup. Houston gets a good long-weekend workout at the end of April when they face Madison, #24 Chicago Outfit and #10 Windy City on consecutive days.
23 Ohio

9 NC 2012 6-0
2011 13-8
4/14 @ Carolina Ohio enters the DNN top 25 for the first time ever with their solid 53-point upset of March #22 Arch Rival; both Carolina and Grand Raggidy will come gunning for Ohio in April.
5 NC 2012 1-0
2011 12-6
4/14 @ Charm City Though currently ranked 5th in their North Central region, the Outfit had to fight all game long to fend off a challenge from Grand Raggidy, who did not qualify for the North Central tournament last year; the Outfit drops three slots on that result.
25 Arch Rival

6 NC 2012 2-1
2011 10-6
4/14 @ Memphis Arch Rival had an up-and-down weekend in March, managing to win a NC playoffs rematch with Cincinnati but losing to Ohio the next day. Like the Outfit, they drop 3 spaces.
Key:
E WFTDA East region
W WFTDA West region
NC WFTDA North Central region
SC WFTDA South Central region
