CHICAGO, IL -- At the halfway point of Windy City's local season, a three-way tie for first has emerged, as the Double Crossers, Hell's Belles and Manic Attackers all stand at 2-1 while the Fury remains winless at 0-3.

West Texas Swamps San Antonio, 187-56

SAN ANTONIO, TX -- The West Texas Roller Dollz used tough team defense and explosive scoring opportunities to defeat the Alamo City Rollergirls Sunday night in San Antonio, 187-56. The Roller Dollz would open up with a 3-1 jam by Marie La Rolle. Top Alamo City jammer Speedyrella would counter back with a six point jam, and the Las Tejanas would take a 7-3 lead. But that would be their only lead of the night.

Varsity Brawlers schooled in stinging 100-45 defeat by The Swarm

LOS ANGELES, CA -- Before the LA Derby Dolls' first advance-ticket sellout game of the season, the San Diego Derby Dolls Swarm stung the LA’s Varsity Brawlers with a knockout 100-45 defeat February 28 at The Doll Factory. For both teams, it was their first game in an LA Derby Dolls season, but the freshman Varsity Brawlers were clearly overwhelmed by the vastly more experienced San Diego Swarm.

Dallas Derby Devils & Dallas Deception Win in Doubleheader

DALLAS, TX -- A long anticipated bout finally came to fruition last Saturday when the Dallas Derby Devils took on Assassination City, the first time the cross-town rivals had met in a regular WFTDA sanctioned bout. More to the point, this was the first time fans of both leagues were able to fill up a building and cheer, cheer, cheer. If that weren't enough to draw a crowd, local men's team Dallas Deception hosted the Tucson Dry Heat Militia in their debut bout, a 40 minute affair. PAUL, MN --  The Atomic Bombshells entered their match against the Garda Belts with the worst record of the league; 0-2 with a near triple-digit negative point differential. With two matches to play, they still held hope alive; two large wins could send them to the championship, as long as GBs lost to the Rockits in March.

DNN Releases March 2009 Power Rankings

This is only our second month of doing the DNN Power Rankings, and our life has already been greatly complicated by some lopsided upsets. For February, the DNN Power Rankings were tested 12 times and our record is a decent 9-3, with the upsets all taking place at the Four Corner Feud mini-tournament.

Charm City Rebuffs Dutchland & Providence in Doubleheader

BALTIMORE, MD -- In front of another crowd that must have been a lot closer to two thousand than to one (which seems to be far more of a habit and less of an exception with derby these days) the city of Baltimore welcomed the Charm City Roller Girls All Stars back from a four month hiatus on Saturday night.  In return the crowd was delighted to witness not one but two very solid wins, first over the Dutchland Derby Rollers 187-41 and then over Providence Roller Derby's all-star squad, the Rhode Island Riveters 171-76.
