The Women's Flat Track Derby Association today released the first official regional rankings since the third quarter 2009 release in October. These rankings reflect the results of bouts played from October 2009 to December 2009 -- including, of course, those played during November 2009's WFTDA championship tournament.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- For the second weekend in a row, a WFTDA sanctioned game will be played in the state of Indiana.
Derby is in the deepest part of its de facto off-season and everybody is very hung over today, so this'll be a pretty short and sweet weekly rollup:
SAN DIEGO, CA - On, Saturday Dec. 19, a handful of roller derby fans in San Diego were lucky enough to witness the first ever all-female vs. all-male roller derby banked track game.
Editor's note: earlier this year, we welcomed Xena Paradox as DNN's Photo Editor. Since then, she's been working tirelessly to help us find the best in derby photography, organize it, get shots posted promptly, and (most importantly) make sure that we're appropriately crediting all the great photographers who take them.
After a bit of a delay (sorry about that!) DNN is proud to present the winners of the first annual Reader's Poll. In the end we notched 2,905 unique votes, and it turns out that counting 2,905 unique votes isn't quite as easily an automated process as we had hoped.
Flat-track roller derby game for the iPhone. Yes, really. It turns out none of your DNN editors actually own iPhones, so we're DYING for somebody to download this and review it in comments.
SAN DIEGO, CA -- With the tournament and championship seasons finally behind us, and everyone already having their share of discussions on whether or not new WFTDA champions Oly Rollers are changing the face of roller derby, it’s time to get back to some old-school loosely-organized roller derby to close out 2009's action.
LOS ANGELES, CA - The LA Derby Dolls Tough Cookies led the San Diego Derby Dolls Swarm from the first whistle and through most of the game to take the first co-league Derby Dolls Championship, 107-91. Video of this game can be viewed on the Derby Dolls justin.tv channel.
