CHICAGO, IL -- At the halfway point of Windy City's local season, a three-way tie for first has emerged, as the Double Crossers, Hell's Belles and Manic Attackers all stand at 2-1 while the Fury remains winless at 0-3.
PORTLAND, ME -- On the Sunday bout of a weekend road trip that also saw them defeat #8 Boston on Saturday, the #9 Charm City all-stars ended a successful weekend with a solid 157-52 defeat of Maine (currently not in DNN's top 25 nationally, ranked #5 in the East by WFTDA.)
OLYMPIA, WA -- The Oly Rollers, currently unranked by either WFTDA or DNN but long viewed as one of the most potentially dangerous young teams in the sport, finally made good on their promise in a big way, taking down #12 Rose City in a high-scoring, high-penalty shootout, 157-151.
BOSTON, MA -- Bostonians can handle bad drivers, but last Saturday at Shriners Auditorium the Charm City Rollergirls brought stop-and-go traffic of a different kind.
BOSTON, MA -- This Saturday, the Boston Massacre hosts the Charm City Roller Girls this Saturday at what is slated to be an intense rematch. Boston and Charm City, currently ranked #8 and #9 in the nation by DNN, last met in an April 2007 thriller.
SAN ANTONIO, TX -- The West Texas Roller Dollz used tough team defense and explosive scoring opportunities to defeat the Alamo City Rollergirls Sunday night in San Antonio, 187-56. The Roller Dollz would open up with a 3-1 jam by Marie La Rolle. Top Alamo City jammer Speedyrella would counter back with a six point jam, and the Las Tejanas would take a 7-3 lead. But that would be their only lead of the night.
LOS ANGELES, CA -- Before the LA Derby Dolls' first advance-ticket sellout game of the season, the San Diego Derby Dolls Swarm stung the LA’s Varsity Brawlers with a knockout 100-45 defeat February 28 at The Doll Factory. For both teams, it was their first game in an LA Derby Dolls season, but the freshman Varsity Brawlers were clearly overwhelmed by the vastly more experienced San Diego Swarm.
DALLAS, TX -- A long anticipated bout finally came to fruition last Saturday when the Dallas Derby Devils took on Assassination City, the first time the cross-town rivals had met in a regular WFTDA sanctioned bout. More to the point, this was the first time fans of both leagues were able to fill up a building and cheer, cheer, cheer. If that weren't enough to draw a crowd, local men's team Dallas Deception hosted the Tucson Dry Heat Militia in their debut bout, a 40 minute affair. Let no one say they don't appreciate derby in Dallas.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- The Charlotte Rollergirls christened their new venue in impressive fashion, posting a 110-64 victory over the visiting Classic City Rollergirls from Athens, GA.
Editors' note: Due to submission overload and real-life interruptions, this preview was posted some hours after the bouts ended. We're awfully sorry about that, but we think you'll still appreciate the insights that follow.
DALLAS, TX -- This Saturday night finds Dallas derby making some history in multiple ways as they host a full-length, male / female doubleheader. The first bout finds the very first time that two WFTDA teams from the same city have faced off against each other at home, as the Dallas Derby Devils take on Assassination City.
Garda Belts 76, Atomic Bombshells 57 ST. PAUL, MN -- The Atomic Bombshells entered their match against the Garda Belts with the worst record of the league; 0-2 with a near triple-digit negative point differential. With two matches to play, they still held hope alive; two large wins could send them to the championship, as long as GBs lost to the Rockits in March.
This is only our second month of doing the DNN Power Rankings, and our life has already been greatly complicated by some lopsided upsets. For February, the DNN Power Rankings were tested 12 times and our record is a decent 9-3, with the upsets all taking place at the Four Corner Feud mini-tournament.
BOSTON, MA -- Move over David Ortiz, the Boston Massacre are Beantown’s new grand slam champions. In a bout that saw Boston’s score rise in fits and starts—and by fives and tens—jammers Claire D. Way, Krushpuppy, Maura Buse, and Sugar Hits turned in a total of 19 grand slams toward a 104-point landslide over Maine Roller Derby’s Port Authorities.
BOSTON, MA -- The Boston Massacre (East #3) faces off against the Maine Port Authorities (East #5) in the first 2009 interleague action for both teams on Saturday, February 28.
BALTIMORE, MD -- In front of another crowd that must have been a lot closer to two thousand than to one (which seems to be far more of a habit and less of an exception with derby these days) the city of Baltimore welcomed the Charm City Roller Girls All Stars back from a four month hiatus on Saturday night. In return the crowd was delighted to witness not one but two very solid wins, first over the Dutchland Derby Rollers 187-41 and then over Providence Roller Derby's all-star squad, the Rhode Island Riveters 171-76.
ENOLA, PA – On Sunday, February 15th, Harrisburg Area Roller Derby hosted their season opener and Valentine bout at Olympic Skating Center, where Harrisburg’s Nuclear Knockouts took on the DC Rollergirls’ All Stars in an action packed night of exciting flat track roller derby.
Manic Attackers 197, The Fury 53 CHICAGO, IL -- It's official. The Manic Attackers are scary.
