Men's Derby Conference II Hits Baltimore This Sunday

The second Men's Derby Conference -- a combination scrimmage day and networking opportunity for the increasing number of men's derby teams popping up around the nation -- will be hosted by your humble journalist's team, the Harm City Homicide, in Baltimore on Sunday, December 7th.

In a matchup between a longtime WFTDA luminary recently fallen on tough times and a younger team itching to move up the ranking, experience would be the key to victory as 7th seed Tucson convincingly defeated 10th seed Dallas 112-52 after a closely-matched start.

Tucson entered the 2007 Western Regional as the #2 ranked team in the nation and very nearly claimed that tourney's championship, advancing to the final bout but losing to Rat City in a narrow one. Hard-hitting Dallas is looking to make the next step as a league with this match. Their 2008 has been a series of threatening to knock off top-20 competition but falling just a bit short.
