Here's a better-than-average mainstream-media article that actually does some investigative reporting, covering the birth process of a second, non-WFTDA aspirational league in Indianapolis. Worth a read (although, as is so often the case, the rules "crash course" is nearly comically inaccurate.)

Not just Socialites
Hey, just so our midwest friends don't get completely confused - there are a bunch of girls from the Bleeding Heartland Rollergirls in those pictures. We went up to help with practice that day, and had a great time! We love those girls! Me, Molly, Unicoroner, Pele, Bombshell, Roxy, Rockit, Old Broad, and some other people I'm forgetting skate in Bloomington, IN.

Indiana's Derby-crazy!
Shout out to my Homegirls!! The CCS! Indiana has Roller Derby fever. Lets see...there's Naptown RG (Indy), Circle City Socialites (Indy), ROSI (Evansville), Demolition City (Evansville), Ft Wayne DG, Bleeding Heartland RG (Bloomington), Summit City (Ft Wayne), and "fledgeling leagues" in Columbus (ToTT) and Lafayette (Brawlin' Dolls). Yeah...I'd say that qualifies as Derby-crazy!! Much love to all our Hoosier Rollergirls!
