During last year's derby road adventure, I started plastering the rear-quarter window of the Hurtmobile with derby stickers for every league I visited (the picture shows it at about 2/3 of its current state). I get a lot of looks and questions about it, which is always fun.
Two problems:
- I'm running out of (safely obscurable) window space
- Limiting it to leagues I've visited means I'm not showing off a hell of a lot of other derby stickers
And one opportunity:
- The car is pretty close to a paint emergency; the paint has been oxidizing for years
So here's the plan. I'm gonna give the car a craptastic paint job just for basic protection -- maybe just rattle-can gloss black, even. Then, I'm gonna cover it from tip to tail in derby stickers. Finally, I'll take it to an actual paint shop to seal it with a professional clearcoat.
Thus launches the 1000 sticker project. I need your derby stickers! If you're attending one of the WFTDA regional tournaments this weekend or next, I'd be grateful if you'd bring a selection. I don't want a pile of any single sticker -- rather, I'd love to have "one of everything." After the tournament, I'll compile a list of what I have, and solicit for more.
If you aren't going to the tournaments but you'd like to put stickers in the mail, here's the address:

Thanks, and stay tuned for progress reports through the fall and winter!
