Preview: OKC Outlaws at Team Bionic

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Just two weeks after beating Team MASTR on their home turf, Team Bionic is hosting another bout at the City Auditorium in Colorado Springs on Sept. 8, this time bringing in the OKC Outlaws from Oklahoma City, Okla.

Team Bionic will have a fairly local roster this time, with only two skaters, Helen Wheels and Elektra Highvoltage, from out of state. The rest of the roster is made up of Colorado residents, including Colorado Springs' sweetheart Psycho Babble. Psycho Babble and Ecko were not able to participate in the recent Team Bionic bout against Team MASTR because of their trip to Olympia, Wash.

Denver Roller Dolls' trifecta, Juska, Akers and Francey will also be making a trip to Colorado Springs to participate, along with Rocky Mountain's powerhouse blocker Amanda Jamitinya. Akers, having participated in Team USA's recent European tour, has played with her hometown all-stars team, the Mile High Club the weekend before. Team Bionic's bout against the OKC Outlaws will be her third bout weekend in a row.

The OKC Outlaws is currently ranked sixth in division two in the banked rank. They are a fairly new team, only having formed in 2011. However, many of their skaters have flat track experience dating back as far as 2008.

On April 21, the OKC Outlaws took on the Kansas City Banked Beauties, where some members of Team MASTR originate from. It was their inaugural banked track bout. They lost narrowly to KCBB by just six points.

The OKC Outlaws have not had a very strong banked track schedule. Sept. 8's bout against Team Bionic will only be their second banked track bout of the year. In contrast, Team Bionic has hosted three home bouts this season and played an away game in Los Angeles. All Bionic skaters rostered for this game have at least one banked track experience under their belts. This will be Akers and Juska's second banked track game with Team Bionic. The rest of the roster have skated in more than two.

However, the OKC Outlaws cannot be underestimated. Their strong showing against the Kansas City Banked Beauties suggest that they can put up a hard fight against the still undefeated Team Bionic.
