Chicago Outfit Gets Revenge on Cincinnati, 150-93

CHICAGO, IL – On Saturday, July 21st, 700 fans crowded into the Windy City Fieldhouse to witness the rematch of the Chicago Outfit Syndicate (5NC) and the visiting Cincinnati Black Sheep (9NC). They came to watch the second bout inside of sixty days between these two playoff bound North Central foes.

On June 2nd at BrewHaHa, Cincy had used a K Lethal 25 point jam followed by a Hannah Barbaric 20-0 jam to push out to an early 45-8 lead and held off an Outfit push to win 139-119. But this past Saturday, The Syndicate’s stifling second half defense and the best performance yet by rookie jammer Silkk Assassin led the Outfit to a solid 150-93 victory.

The bout began with two double digit jams and one lead change by the time the teams lined up for the third jam of the night. K Lethal started off with 12 unanswered points for Cincy and the Outfit’s Queefer Sutherland immediately followed with a 14-0 jam for the first of three lead changes of the first half.

Wheezy flipped the scoreboard back in Cincy’s favor four jams later. The first 25 minutes of the bout were textbook Black Sheep; explosive offense by K Lethal and effective Cincy defense led by Sk8r-Kinney and Buckhead Betty. The Black Sheep’s biggest lead of the bout was 17 points at 52-37 with 5 minutes remaining in the first half.

But the Outfit jammer trio of Lola Blow, Queefer Sutherland and rookie Silkk Assassin went on a 25-0 run to finish the first half, ending with Silkk’s biggest jam of the night (12 points) that flipped the scoreboard for the final time and giving the Outfit a 60-52 lead at halftime.

Cincy's K Lethal put up 40 of the Black Sheep’s 52 first half points, while the Outfit was led by Queefer’s 27 and Silkk’s 25.

The second half began the same way the first half ended, with the Chicago jammer trio putting points on the board and the Outfit defense putting Cincy jammers on the ground. Eight minutes into the second half, the Outfit held a 30 point lead at 89 to 59. It only took them seven jams to break the century mark at 107-59.

The Syndicate defense, led by Lady K and Helsa Wayton, created air ight walls and recycled effectively. Other standout pack play for Chicago was turned in by Hero Shima, Smashley Destructo, Matz Ballbreaker, Suzie Crotchrot and The Joan Ranger.

Though the Black Sheep got their first double-digit jam the first jam of the bout, they did not score their second double digit jam until candyKICKass scored 15 for Cincinnati with 5 minutes remaining in the bout.

The second half Outfit offense was steady as they scored points in 16 of 21 second half jams, but the story of the bout may have been the emergence of Syndicate rookie Silkk Assassin. Less than two months earlier against The Black Sheep, Silkk only scored 5 points in 6 jams for The Outfit. On July 21st Sillk registered 54 for the Outfit. Lola Blow added 31 and Queefer Sutherland led all scoring with 65. K. Lethal led the Black Sheep scoring with 49 points.

Next for the Black Sheep of Cincinnati is a trip to Boston (7E) on August 11. The Outfit’s next opponent is another tough regional rival, NC7 Ohio – Ohio the NC – 7th ranked Ohio Roller Girls on August 18th in Columbus. Ohio is 16-0 against the North Central region this year.
