INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- Monumental Mayhem’s third bout of championship Sunday was a match-up of two teams that had just played two days prior - the eighth-seeded Arch Rival and the ninth-seeded Chicago Outfit. The Outfit lost to Arch Rival two days ago in the opening bout of Monumental Mayhem but they won on Sunday afternoon by a score of 153 – 113.
The strong Outfit defense highlighted the early part of the first half. With twenty minutes remaining in the first half, Arch Rival had yet to hit double figures after ten minutes of play - the Outfit led 29 - 9. The Outfit pushed the lead to 33 – 12 before three power jam penalties against them allowed Arch Rival to get back into the bout. Arch Rival’s Black Market Baby put up 8 points and then another 20 points in power jams and Downtown Dallis scored 15. The three power jams cut the Outfit lead to four points at 59 – 55. Arch Rival's May Require Stitches then bested Lola Blow and the score was tied at 63 with 5:44 to play in the first half.
The Chicago Outfit played clean for the final three jams of the half to take a 75 – 63 lead into the break.
The first ten minutes of the second half were all defense by both teams. Arch Rival’s pack play highlighted by Chewblocka, Mayor Francis Slayer, Artemischief, Shimmy Hoffa and Stabby McCutcha. The Outfit defense featured Gaygan, Hero Shima, Bloody Elle, Lady K, the Joan Ranger, Helsa Wayton, Suzie Crotchrot, Margles McNasty, Maul E. Hatchet and Smashley Destructo. With 20 minutes remaining, The Outfit maintained a four point lead at 81 – 77.
Over the next 14 minutes, the Outfit reasserted themselves offensively without getting sent to the penalty box. Lola Blow’s team high 18-point jam pushed the Outfit lead to 120 – 85 at the 11 minute mark. Interestingly, that was the last time Lola Blow would jam during the bout as the Outfit rode to victory on the wheels of Sweet Mary Pain and Queefer Sutherland. The only Monumental Mayhem rematch went to the underdog as the Chicago Outfit prevailed by a score of 153 – 113.
Arch Rival was led by Black Market Baby’s 47 points and Downtown Dallis’ 37 as they secured sixth place in the tournament. The Chicago Outfit entered as nine and leave as five. They were led by Sweet Mary Pain’s 59 points, Queefer Sutherland’s 49 and Lola Blow’s 40.

hell yes
we love supporting our team! thats was in my top 3 favs!!
outfits on the rise!!
I've watched this team grow from nothing to something over the past 4 years. We started in the back of Fleetwood roller rink with 15 girls who had only skated 3 months, and we had 5 girls who had played a season and a half of derby. we knew we had a lot to prove if we were going to ever gain the respect of the roller derby community. In one week we had a name, in 2 weeks we had a logo and may i add a fantastic one. in 3 weeks we had 100 t shirts and the passion to begin our rise on derby. with not many leagues at the time being a travel team only structure i turned to chica loca of sacred city for advice being that they had a great travel team only structure. so thanks chica i couldn't have even known where to begin without you <3
this weekend i watched this team in thier first regional tournament do everything and more than they came to do. just writing this all down makes me want to cry. i love this team/organization with all my heart and soul. i have to give huge credit to charleen in charge for doing all the legal end of things for the first year or more on her own. she made this league a legit functioning non profit organization and shes still plays a major roll. and of course the biggest thanks is to the skaters who have stuck with this league and believed in it from the very beginning when no one else did. some people thought we were a joke or a rec league but we have proved through hard work and dedication that we are here to stay and we want this just as much as everyone else in this region/nation of derby. i couldn't be more proud to represent this league, we are family.
the north central region in general made some huge changes this year and i saw some major changes in skill level across the board. this sport has evolved so major. sorry for the rant, i just feel so strong about this sport and especially for the chicago outfit.....a roller derby team.
I hear you sister
