Sun State

That's interesting that almost half of the team is from Sun State. Why such a small showing for Victoria?

its very expensive to get to

its very expensive to get to Toronto, many skaters could simply not afford the trip. However it is a great looking team from Aus :) Good luck Team Australia

I was surprised that there aren't a few more VRDL players on that list too. Maybe only a handful of them tried out? (There were only two SRDL players that tried out)

Congrats to all the girls that made the team! And it was a big deal for some just to be able to skate with you all at the try outs. ;)

But... HELL YEAH HATERADE!

Where and Who?

I'm posting here because I don't know where else to post this question. Who is Philly's Liberty Belles playing this weekend? When you go to tickets on the Philly website it says N.E.R.D. The only N.E.R.D. I know of is in Australia.

new england...?

Amirite? Wasn't there a mash-up team of Boston and Providence skaters who skated as N.E.R.D.?

I believe this is New England Roller Derby. I think it is a pick-up team that often plays ECE.

I think it's a fill-in

I may be remembering wrong, but I think PRG's original opponent for this weekend had to cancel. I gather NERD has agreed to fill in. As a pickup team, I'd imagine they have a little more flexibility to roster "who's available" on short notice.

Interleague bout schedulers, take note for the future: we've seen a flurry of cancellations this month, which suggests that this might be a time of year to book opponents from closer to home to reduce the likelihood that a blown travel budget will scuttle your matchup.

NERD

Scratch my earlier comment. Nobody from Boston is able to make it, so the team is some Providence folks combined with others from outside New England. Not really a NERD team so much as a regional pick-up team.

Good luck to you ladies who

Good luck to you ladies who are going to Canada! Have a great time!

I look forward to skating with you all in 2012 when we come together and have some good Australia dagginess and competition!

8/27/11 N.E.R.D. v Philly Bout CANCELED

Due to the approach of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irene and dangerous travel conditions, the double-header bout hosted by the Philly Roller Girls at Class of 1923 Arena at Penn is canceled.

Unused tickets can be presented for admission to any PRG 2012 bout at Class of 1923 Arena. Stay safe, East Coasters!

mortal wombat

such a shame that kitty decapitate, is not in the team, no disrespect to those that made the team, but i'm sure she will be missed in canada this year, still gives us pomms a better chance of beating you
