DNN Breaks The Language Barrier
Tonight's live broadcast of Denver vs. Bay Area from RollerCon will mark a moment in history, as DNN Labs conducts a new experiment. This evening you will be able to read textcasts of the game in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese.
We identified the language issue as a major priority for DNN, as we shared with you earlier this year. The language divide has been a baseline growth problem for many global leagues. Thanks to all the generous derby community volunteers who are willing to help, potentially many more members of the global derby community will have a more meaningful broadcast experience.
The video will be in the live page window for English, and additional language textcasts will appear on separate live pages, which can be popped out to read alongside your video window.

Awesome!
Did you have live speakers on each channel, or was there some machine translation involved?
Volunteers!
We were fortunate enough to have 3 wonderful volunteers last night who live translated and textcasted the play by play during the game in each language. We cannot thank them enough! Stay tuned - this is only the beginning...
derby words in Spanish
I have a hard time with derby terms in Spanish. Once I can brush up on those I will volunteer...it would be nice to have a live announcer annoucing the game in a different language as well (someday..someday). The teams that are sprouting all over Chile (where my family is) alone are amazing!
