México Roller Derby
In fact Roller Derby is a new sport in México and as you can see in the video (no helmets and yes, blades!) it is very difficult in Querétaro and other states outside Mexico City, to find a place where to buy roller skates, or even protective gear suitable for playing Roller Derby... most of my girls train on artistic roller skates because roller derby skates can only be bought from USA on the internet paying up to 50 or 60 USD just for shipping and taxes, plus you can´t even try the product before buying so a lot of issues with sizes exist, and is the same for knee, elbow and wrist pads.. but an amazing effort of every player has been made and for the bout played at june 25th and the outlook was completely different.. it was the 1st game interleague in the Country and of course there are a lot of details to arrange including helmets for all referees and everything.. but it was great and of course no blades and all the protective gear on all players was obligatory!! We had the prescence of a paramedic in case something went wrong and fortunately we did not need his actuation.
We will share pics and videos of upcoming bouts.

Another military derby team
I'm sure there are a lot more than just the ones listed in the Military Times article. Our team - the Rocketeer Rollers - is near Vandenberg Air Force Base and over 50% of our team has a military affiliation.
