Sporting Jet City Colors
If you're a regular DNN reader, you've probably noticed that we have a different look right now*. We'd like to thank the Jet City Rollergirls for underwriting our pixels this week, as the current DNN Site Theme Sponsor.
We keep running into them this year (always a sign of a team with national ambitions), first in their back yard at the Wild West Showdown, then further afield at the Dust Devil in April and again at May's Midwest Brewhaha. We've gotten to know them a little bit, and we're glad to give you this chance to get to know them, too.
Based in Everett, Washington, about 45 minutes (on a very good day) up I-5 from Seattle, the Jet City Rollergirls take their name from their hometown's long history of producing very large airplanes. Their four intraleague teams just wrapped up their third season of play, with the Pink Pistols emerging as local champions for 2010.
While they've developed largely in the shadow of three northwest powerhouses, the WFTDA charter Jet City Bombers have been racking up a steady series of W's this year. A narrow loss to Duke City gave way to defeats of Pacific, Slaughter County, Arch Rival, #4 Philly's Independence Dolls B-team, and former heavyweight Tucson. This weekend, they'll face their greatest challenge yet as they take on #1 Oly Rollers in a private bout.
Thanks again, Jet City, and we'll look forward to seeing you on the track again soon!
* Longtime viewers will remember we went neon a year ago, at Montréal Roller Derby's behest. We had so much fun with it, we've decided to make it a regular occurrance. If your league would like to support DNN's ongoing roller derby coverage efforts, contact us for details about this leagues-only sponsorship opportunity.

Thanks DNN!
Thanks DNN! We appreciate everything you do for the sport.
Quick correction -- we weren't at the Dust Devil, but you nailed everything else :P
the hell?
who was I thinking of then?
ooooh, I know... I was thinking of Hawaii's Pacific Roller Derby, who was at Wild West Showdown and then at the Dust Devil.
It's just possible that I'm travelling a lot this year :)
Good Luck!
Good luck against the Oly Rollers this weekend ladies!! x x x
