#18 Nashville 166, Ohio 43 – Hot on the heels of their inaugural induction into DNN’s power rankings announced Friday, the Nashville Rollergirls’ Music City All Stars approached the April 3rd bout against the Ohio Rollergirls’ All Stars with focused intensity. For the third time this season, Nashville maintained the score lead from the beginning of the bout to the last jam of the night. Nashville’s record is now 3-0 for 2010 with wins over Atlanta and Pikes Peak; Ohio stands at 0-2, having also lost to Naptown.
Nashville kept Ohio from scoring until the 6th jam of the first period, when Kitty LiquorBottom put up one point against Slammylou Harris’s 4, bringing the score to 24-1 Nashville. Ohio continued to struggle against Nashville's dominance in attaining lead jammer status. In the first period, Nashville took lead jammer status in 13 of 19 jams. The trend continued after halftime, with Nashville gaining lead in 13 out of 17 jams in the second period.
The teams went into half time at 75-12 Nashville. Ohio came out of the locker room with a bit more fire and reversed the trend seen in the first period by scoring in eight of 17 jams -- though this was not enough to keep up with Nashville, who managed to score in all but one jam of the second period. Team penalties were fairly close with Nashville receiving a total of 54 minors and 25 majors and Ohio receiving 59 minors and 20 majors.

#19 Atlanta 209, Angel City 24 -- Angel City's first bout of 2010 proved to be a rough one. Missing a wide swath of their most effective skaters -- including Estro Jen, Diesel, Selacidal, Ms. D'Fiant, Biodiesel and Shiv -- they went down to a big 185 point loss. This bout was the first half of a doubleheader for their opponents Atlanta, who increased their 2010 record to 6-1 with the Angel City victory (although they'd drop to 6-2 immediately afterwards by losing to San Diego.)
Atlanta proved early in the night that they were in So Cal to make waves by keeping Angel City off the board for the opening 15 minutes, by which time Atlanta had opened up a 52-0 lead. Angel City’s GoGo Gadget was finally able to put 4 points on the board, but only 3 more were scored by Angel City during the rest of the first half and it ended at 103-7 Atlanta. Angel City continued fighting until the end, but were greatly outmatched and only added 14 more points in the second half while Atlanta put up 106. -- Kali Katt

Thank you So Cal!
Thank you so much to Angel City for coming down to San Diego to play Atlanta with a short roster! And especially big thanks to San Diego for hosting a double header and a banked scrimmage for us!! We were so impressed with San Diego's level of play and teamwork. And we had so much fun. WFTDA or not, I'd recommend to any team to jump at the opportunity to play the SD Derby Dolls. They're great skaters and fantastic hosts...and if you're lucky, they might even arrange for an earthquake or two to round out your trip!

All it takes is someone to write it.

Spoken with our beloved Justice. Looks like the recaplets got lost in the Internet shuffle. It happens.

Championship bout between two-time defending champions Rockits and the Atomic Bombshells
We've been doing lengthy recaps and preview/analyses for our bouts for several years now. With the coming of the 'Weekend in Review' format that DNN does, we added to the task list the DNN recaplet. It's a lot of work, but we've been learning that some of our players actually use the full writeups to plan out strategy. Sort of makes it all worth it.
Recaps are Easy
Justice has submission guidelines. It's like fill-in the blanks and then submit it. Justice will do his english-black magic to it and wa-la, a recap that anybody can understand, even if you didn't when you submitted it.
