DNN Releases November Power Rankings
In a month with relatively little Power Ranked action, what bouts there were proved mighty confounding for the DNN crew. #14 Detroit answered a 107-95 nailbiter defeat by #13 Madison at North Central Regionals by knocking off the Dairyland Dolls 275-76 at home, but the latter bout rostered only 10 Madison skaters.
The following weekend, perennial Power Rankings headscratchers #22 Cincinnati Rollergirls upset #19 San Diego 103-71 on the flat track. While San Diego answered with a 181-64 banked track romp the next day, we're moving Cincinnati up based on their success in the dominant modern roller derby geometry.
Most challenging to the previous Power Rankings was unranked Minnesota's remarkable 105-69 defeat of #18 Carolina. No matter how you slice it, this result creates a giant pile of logical errors when compared to other recent scores for both teams. To arrive at final rankings, we fell back to the original bottom line outlined in the Power Rankings FAQ:
