#14 Detroit Runs Over #13 Madison, 275-76

DETROIT, MI -- The last time Detroit and Madison met, on September 19 in the semifinals of the WFTDA North Central regional tournament, Madison came from behind to defeat Detroit 105-97 in a gut-wrenching game. That sent Madison to the tournament's championship bout and Detroit to the third-place bout. Three weeks later, this last Saturday night, the Detroit Derby Girls skated like they were still cheesed from that defeat as they whipped the Dairyland Dolls 275-76. Detroit jumped out to a 59-0 lead after 7 jams and cruised to a 151-8 lead at the half.

Some folks said that Madison wasn't the same team in this game as at the regional tournament as they only had 10 skaters in uniform vs. Detroit's full complement of 14 skaters, but given this massive point margin, the difference was arguably the fired-up attitude of the Motown maulers. Of course, Detroit did also have the home floor advantage, having only ever lost at home to the Windy City Rollers.

The lineups for this re-match:

Madison: Allie Gator, Charlie Hustle, Dolly Pardon Me, Dutch Oven, Jewels of Denile, Juke Boxx, Major Kusaknocky (who had just skated in the Team Unicorn game versus the Motor City Disassembly Line), Mouse, Stank Girl, and Tango de Muerte.

Detroit:
Black Eyed Skeez, boo d. livers, Bruisie Siouxxx, Cookie Rumble, Elle McFearsome, Fatal Femme, Polly Fester, Racer McChaseHer, Rock Candy, Roxanna Hardplace, Sarah Hipel (wearing a uniform that still said “Killbox”), Sista Slitchya, Summers Eve-L, and Vicious Vixen.
